Completed in 2017, the Barber Kiosque is a barber and hair salon designed from a converted shipping container. Both a functional space and an attraction, it asserts a strong identity inspired by the “barber” universe and conceived as marketing architecture: a building that becomes a communication tool.
The project responded to the desire to create a unique, distinctive, and immediately recognizable barber and hair salon. The choice of a shipping container and its wooden cladding created a modern and singular aesthetic, blending industrial and traditional spirit—an “industrial-style saloon” in keeping with the contemporary barber spirit.
The objective was to translate the charismatic personality of the client through an expressive and open architecture, transforming the building into a genuine urban stage. The Barber Kiosque was designed as a visible platform, a living showcase that attracts attention and arouses public curiosity, where everything happening in the salon is visible from the public space.
The container was extensively opened to offer transparency onto the interior activity. Its wooden cladding echoes the saloon universe while highlighting the contrast with the raw, industrial metal interior. A protective canopy and an access ramp symbolically extend the platform, enhancing the scenic effect while meeting accessibility requirements.
Beyond a simple commercial space, the Barber Kiosque acts as a landmark in the urban environment. Its form, materials, and architectural staging naturally draw attention and directly contribute both to commercial attraction and to the site’s visibility. It is an example of marketing architecture, where the building itself becomes a medium for branding and a tool for development.
